Fall is finally here, and even though we can’t wait to start wearing our cute jackets and scarves, this time of the year can be really rough for our skin. Dry skin is a very common problem, especially as we age.  The qualities of youthful skin are that it is well-hydrated, supple, firm and wrinkle-free skin. It is also free from fine lines, age spots and a dull tired tone. The weather can take a toll on our body – give this Shea Butter face cream a try for that beautiful dewy and hydrated skin 🙂

 

Whipped Shea Butter Face Cream

If you have sensitive, acne-prone or dehydrated skin, try making your own face cream with Shea butter. Shea butter is so soft and nourishing to skins of all types. Since it contains aloe vera in it, it’s non-greasy and tightens skin, making it great for acne and oily skin types. It’s also healing for dry skin since it contains olive oil, a high-fat oil that is rich in Vitamin E.

Ingredients:

1 to 2 teaspoons of Shea butter

1 to 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel

2 drops of olive oil

5 drops of your favorite essential oil (lavender is our favorite)

 

Massage it on a clean face using clean fingertips once or twice a day – in the morning and at night.  You can store this in a small container.  Smooth it over dry winter skin on your face, neck and hands to lubricate and seal moisture.
